Greeting:
Start out the class by greeting them with good morning, good afternoon or even hi or hello, then play or sing the Hello song. (See resource # 1)
Warm up:
For this lesson you are going to want to throw in a song relating to feels, so try out the happy song. (See resource # 2)
Introduction to Language:
After the song ask your students to sit down. For this lesson you might want to only focus on a few easy feelings like happy, sad, sleepy, angry, hungry, cold and hot or anything you feel comfortable with. You can introduce these feelings with funny faces, pictures or drawing. Go slow and have students repeating each new word a few times. (See resource # 3)
Review:
Review words and actions of the happy song and play one more time, this will help them remember the happy song and also give them a chance to stand up and have some fun. While singing you can make some linguistics adjustments like replacing the feeling "happy" for another feeling to reinforce the new vocabulary.
(Optional) Game:
For this lesson you can play the guessing game. Basically your students will guess the feelings of others acting them out. Go through the new feelings vocabulary one more time with your class and make sure to use actions for each feeling. Tell students to raise their hand and say yes if they can say the name of the feeling in English. The student who guesses right can come to the front of the class and act out the next feeling.
Closure:
Students will carry out a matching activity after they have been practicing the whole class on this vocabulary. The activity consists on matching the feelings pictures with the respective names. And also they are asked to make some sentences using the vocabulary feeling & emotion as much as possible (See resource #4). After that praise your students for the hard work they have done and say good-bye.
